Triggered by a posting by Eric Sowell, on his the Coding Humanist , Jim Davila has a lengthy and well-formed comment on his PaleoJudaica WeBlog on what writings would be the most important to study as a backdrop to the NT times. He also manages to throw in some pennies for his forthcoming book. :-) I may have to buy that!
