Today I would like to go out of my way to present something unusual for this blog, but nevertheless both educational and fun.
It started when I came over a WeBlog on Roman Archaeology by Mary Harrsch. She turns out to be the Director of Network and Management Information Systems for the College of Education at the University of Oregon. On her homepage, she says she has "designed a number of decision support systems for the College and information analysis systems for the American English Institute, Oregon Public Broadcasting, and research projects developing assistance programs for individuals with disabilities," and now she is working with new artificial intelligence software. She turns out to be an ardent lover of ancient history, especially ancient Roman history, and have designed and runs several websites foucusing on a lots of things, from
Roman Archaeology,
an impressive Searchable Databases of the Ancient World, to
a virtual Julius Caesar webpage!
And if you (like, ehem, me....) from time to time like to play an historic computer came, she has something for you too; just have a look at her webLog describing various historic games available.
If you don't see what this has to do with Philo and his Roman world of the Diaspora, don't blame me.... And for the surfers and players out there; have a look at these pages. For my part, vacation time is coming up, and remember; easter vacation in Norway is the whole week before Easter day... Hence there will probably not be much blogging here untill after Easter day.
